Rattler from a Safe Distance - 2013-140

I was sitting on my back screened porch eating dinner when this guy slithered through the gravel (the two pics on the right). It headed between my neighbor's and my house towards the front. It eventually showed up in the front yard, which I could see out one of my windows (the image on the left).
Other than a little mouse or pack rat (no, not me), this is the first wildlife I've seen INSIDE my garden walls. Will be more vigilant than ever stepping out into the yard from now on.

Planning to watch the last episode of Mr. Selfridge, on here in 15 minutes. Sure hope there will be another season next year; really enjoyed it.
